Your information

Privacy and cookies

This page explains what the guide’s code stores in your browser and what can happen when an embedded third-party service loads.

Last updated 6 October 2026.

Who runs the site

The Market Shipborough Guide is published by Does Your Duck Quack?, 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AN.

Information the site uses

The guide does not add analytics or advertising tracking scripts. Its interactive quiz keeps answers and score in page memory only. The spoiler setting and rewatch tracker save your selections in this browser’s local storage so they remain available on later visits; the site does not send those selections to its pages or store them in an account. You can clear them through your browser’s site-data settings.

Like other websites, the service that delivers these pages may process standard connection and request information, such as an IP address, browser details and the page requested, to deliver and protect the service. The site does not use that information for behavioural advertising or profiling.

Cookies, browser storage and embedded services

The public pages use browser local storage for the spoiler setting and rewatch progress. The active page components do not set a first-party cookie for those features.

Cloudflare, the hosting provider, sets a cookie called __cf_bm to distinguish people from automated bots and protect the site. It is strictly necessary for security, does not track browsing across other sites and expires after about 30 minutes of inactivity.

The location explorer embeds an OpenStreetMap map, and the soundtrack page embeds an Apple Music player. Those services are provided by third parties and can receive technical information from your browser when their embedded content loads. They may use their own cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. The guide does not control their storage or retention. You can avoid the embedded content by leaving the page or using the guide’s ordinary links instead.

Accounts and email

The site does not run user accounts, email sign-ups or a contact form. The contact link opens an email addressed to webmaster@marketshipboroughguide.co.uk in your chosen mail application. If you send a message, its contents and your email address are handled by the email services involved in sending and receiving it.

Links to other sites

Pages link to external sources, visitor services, map providers and music services. When you follow a link or load an embedded service, that organisation’s privacy and cookie terms apply. Review those terms before sharing information with another service.

Your UK GDPR rights

Where UK data protection law applies, you may have rights to request access to personal data, ask for inaccurate data to be corrected or erased, restrict or object to some processing, and request data portability. These rights depend on the circumstances. To ask a privacy question or make a request, contact the publisher.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. See ico.org.uk ↗ for its guidance and contact details.

If affiliate links are added in future

If affiliate links are introduced, partner services may set cookies or similar technologies to record referrals. This page will be updated before those links are added to explain how they work.
